Legends of Penterra
t is the Age of Mortals…
It has been nearly a millennia since the Godflict and the sundering of Pangea -
when the celestial cities fell from the sky and the continent was rent Your asunder.
The Dwarves still hide in their mountain fortresses; Elves shelter in their forests;
dragons sleep in their secluded layers; and even the Gods have departed the lands.
Free from the direct control of the Gods and meddling of the other origin races,
mankind strives to rebuild the world. Yet they are constantly raided by the Orgrist,
former humans twisted by the Dark Ones foul power during the Godflict.
Whatever direction mankind takes, it will be a direction of their own choosing. Your
actions, for good or ill, could help decide if humanity will rise triumphant to the light,
or falter and stumble into darkness and oblivion.
Welcome to the Leogrian Chronicles,
it is now your time to become one of the Legends of Penterra….
The campaign is currently occurring in the Kingdom of Leogria, an island off the eastern shores of the continent of Reliquum in the year 987 after the “Godflict” (a massive war between the creator gods, titans, and other creatures). The realm is based of England and the surrounding areas between 800-1200 AD and uses the Pathfinder role playing system (with a few house rules, modifications, or name changes).
The goal is to have an interesting story driven campaign that everyone finds enjoyable. Most game night sessions are approximately four hours, and are set as an “adventure of the week” that will spotlight a particular player’s character (back history, abilities, etc); with an over arching story playing in the background that will pop up from time to time. Weekly adventures will incorporate everything from mysteries, dungeon crawls, town defenses, raids, undead infestations, or anything else that sounds interesting and can be used to showcase a player.
Inspiration for the world has been derived from English and European history and mythology. Adventures take inspiration from there as well as movies, TV shows, books, etc. Think Akira Kurosawa, George R. R. Martin, Steven Brust, Guy Gavriel Kay, Raymond Chandler, Patrick O’Brian, Tolkien, Robert Howard, H. P. Lovecraft, etc.
